Assassin's Crees Unity is Broken. So here's a free DLC, and give me back your trust!

The release of Assassin's Creed Unity has been the worst experience of the next generation console.

The game was a mess, not even finished, but released, to reach the objective ($) of the publishers without thinking about what does the customer could think.

Main problem of the game was the frame rate.
In fall 2014 it's not possible to release a game that freeze every minute / is not fluid, the dream of the past generation of console was the 60fps and Ubisoft has realized a game that reached the maximum frame rate of 29 on PS4. That sucks.

Second problem is the quality of the graphic.
Softwarehouses should stop publishing videos of videogame showing high (and impossible to reach) graphics. Assassins Creed Unity showed on E3 was spectacular for the eyes. The version released is just.. mha.. good but not gold..

Third problem are the glitches.
This game is full of invisible walls, bad texture and dead people dancing doing the worm dance.

The news of today is that Ubisoft want to buy back the trust and the loyalty lost from their customer giving them a free DLC (and a free game for all the players who bought the season pass).

Is this offert really acceptable?
Should we trust more of this people that showed no respect for us releasing a beta of the game in change of REAL money?

Brace yourself: E3 is coming...

Does the hype generated by the most important event in the videogame industry  is actually a good thing for the gamers?

That's the question. I was thinking about during the last days after the last postponed games by the most important Software House in the scene.

Years ago, the E3 was rapresenting a sneak peak with one-year view of what the players will play. A sort of muscle test, where software house were going to reveal the short term new brands or episodes that the player could start to play before the next E3 will start.

But now looks like the rule are changed.
Last E3 will be known for the presentation of the next generation consoles. To show how good and how fast you should by the consoles, Sony and Microsoft showed a great list of titles that will be available in the "next few months".
But time has passed, and the good games released can be count on the fingers of one hand (Titanfall, Infamous Second Son, Watch Gods (with its high and low))...

The disappoint is big.
Let's hope that this E3 will be not only rich of promises, but just full of reality.

CarPlay the new (?) way to talk with your car

Apple has finally showed what will be it's next big thing.
It's called CarPlay, and also if the rumors had (as usually) anticipated it, Apple's intention will be to enter in the world of smartcars.
CarPlay is an in-car infotainment system that will lets you connect with your iOs device (iphone>5 supported) with your car and will be shown for the first time at Geneva Motor Show (6->16 March 2014).

CarPlay will let iPhone users make calls, access messages, use Maps, support various third party application (like Spotify) using Siri-based voice and touch controls.
The first cars that will introduce this technology will be Ferrari, Mercedes and Volvo, followed in the next years by almost all the others.

Talking about the concept..
CarPlay is not actually an innovation. There are a lot of other softwares implemented in cars that do more or less the same (the possibility to use third party application is a actually the only plus).
But we all know also that Apple has made the simplicity of the software the fingerprint of the company and this make the difference on the user.

My 2 cents fot this new product.
Bet on it.

A lonely boy freezing at the bus stop.. What's people reaction?

This is a story far away from what I usually post on my blog, but there's a connection, a link..
..One of my favourite quotes is "be human", a quote of various videos of one of my favourite italian band (Subsonica).
The video you will find below is an emotional experiment on what the human race can (and must) do in order to perfect our own umanity.
You don't have to speak the language of the author to undestand it.

Just press play and enjoy.

Does the price spent by Facebook for WhatsApp acquisition worth 19B$?

That's the question that all the analysts and press is keeping asking themselves..
And, of course, the answer is not easy at all.

Facebook today has reached an agreement with WhatsApp's founder in order to acquire the Messaging company for 19 billion dollars (4 of those in cash!).
But what actually Facebook bought is not the application itself (Facebook Messanger does more or less the same thing, and it's still in grow and used). What Mark Z. bought is users.

The WhatsApp customer base, to be precise, is composed by more than 450 milion contacts, 325 of those are active every day.
WhatsApp messaging traffic is equal to the entire worl'ds SMS traffic.
With an incredible success in the emerging markets like India, Brazil, Mexico, Nigeria and South Africa. Countries where Facebook usage is far lower than this.
The plan for the app will not change, It will continue to works with an annual subscribtion fee of .89$ and will remain advertising free.

So, it's this massive user base worth $19 billion?  Time will tell.

South Korea will fly at the speed of light

Huge investments announced wednesday by the South Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
It will invest 1.5$ bilion to develop the 5g technology that will reach 1.000 time the speed of the LTE tech.
It will allow to download files of 800mb in ONE second.

The plan see the 5G trial in 2017 and its roll out to the customers in 2020. This will be the key to develop the Ultra-HD streaming, a foundamental business for all the South Korean technological market.

The sad part of the story is to comprehend the gap between the leader of the market and our (european) situation, with the plan of the "Digital Agenda" still in high-sea, and lots of part of the UE still without a broadband connection.

Microsoft and EA pay youtubers for endorsements.. Is that actually so unexpected?

Two days ago a leaked copy of the legal agreement between Microsoft and the most influencers youtubers of Machinima has been showed to the world (3$/1000 views for positive advertising about how good is the xbox one).

Today seems that also EA, with its agreenemt called Ronku, bought the approvation of some famous youtubers for making videos showing how great are games like Fifa 14 (unecessary), Battlefield 4 (completely unnecessary).. and the new Plants vs Zombies 2 (OMG.. really?).
Reason for the great effort took to make a good review video for PvsZ2, EA has increased the pay per views to 10$/1000.
A good affair.

When the leaked copies had been showed hordes of youtuber's fan started to criticize those channels.
But the question is.. Is the fact that the most influencers of the internet get money for advertise so unexpected?
We have to understand the finally internet has gain the power it deserves, and when something became so desirable it's obvious that all the major will be attracted to capitalize this new opportunity.

Btw: I don't blame this youtubers for sign this agreement.

Winner Taco, the web revolution!

Three years ago the Winner Taco revolution was born on a Facebook's fanpage "Algida, ridacci il Winner Taco" / "Algida, give us back the Winner Taco" (ndr. Algida is the Italian name of a worldwide brand well knowned as Wall's). This facebook fanpage was nudge asking about the rentroduction of the Winner Taco in the market.
For the younger, Winner Taco has been an icon in the '90.
Is an icecream with the typical shape of a mexican taco with a crunchy wafer and an heart of vanilla and caramel ice cream.. and most of all its was advertised with the cooler blinking polar bear in every bar!
It has been considered the BEST ice cream ever, but than (nobody knows why) Algida/Wall's decided to remove it from the market leaving people in their desperations..

But than, thanks to the internet, finally all the requests of the people have reached the Algida/Wall's director that established the reintroduction of Winner Taco in the ice cream markets.
Actually this is the fictionalize story. But the "war" has been cruel.
Algida/Wall's had practically lost the possession of its facebook page. The users were posting photoshopped masterpieces with the Winner Taco as protagonist.

There were no choice for them.. They were surrounded!

Razer Nabu wins the Engadget' special price "Best of CES 2014 - People's Choice"

When the CEO of my beloved gaming-device brand, Min-Liang Tan, opens the presentation of the most important technology conference saying "Razer is NOT a gaming company", my heart started to struggle.
My hero turned his back on me, his fans?

While I was going to look for my new favourite gaming-brand and give fire to all my Razer device in the room, Min clarified that "Razer is a company that design product for gamers".
Like saying we love our job, but don't expect that we keep doing only that, because we want to attack new markets, and became cooler than cooler.
Ok, -I thought- fair enought... Let me keep watching this presentation...
..and so.. Razer Nabu, has been showed in all its beauty.

For its aspect It's a sort of Nike airband 2014.
Details have not been given to the audience and the website promise updates as soon as possible.
The Nabu has 2 OLED screens to control and manage its notifications directly from your wrist.
The introduction of the second screen has the scope of give the possibility to the owners to be more discreet. Infact the smaller one ( 32x32 pixel) show only the icons of the notifications. So if you are in a meeting and you receve a call, you can easily understand what's happening on your smartphone looking at your Nabu.
Turning your wrist you will find an 128x128 screen that give more details about the notification received.
For example the name of the person who is calling you, or a preview of the text.
The movement of the wrist will keep you sensible information hidden from the other.

..But Nabu is not just that..
It can also collect informations about the person who wears it: steps, distance, ecc..
Battery life is estimated of 7days per charge!

I love Nabu. Let's wait more information about the price, but could definitely became a must buy for this 2014.

Only stupid people never change their mind

“…He gets criticized for changing his opinions, or ‘flip flopping,’ but over a lifetime I’ve seen many people who don’t change and they always get left behind. Smart people learn things, so they change their minds. Only stupid people never change their minds…”

Less than 24h passed, and here's my new post talking about wearable technology.
I was talking about how bad the smartwhacthes looks to me, but then Intel, during CES2014, has presented Edison.

So, the competition about the wearable tech starts to show muscles. During the conferance, infact, Brian Krzanich (CEO) has presented this incredible hardware that has amazed all the audience. With the dimension of an SD card, this computer has a dual core processor, with Linux, bluetooth and WiFi.
The live exhibition in Las Vegas has show some of the potential of the new Intel's gadget. The pc has been tested with a babysuit that combined with some sensor showed some of the baby personal information, such as his temperature and his pulsations.
We're just at the beginning, but we can just imagine what that could bring to the next future.
Just imagine what infinite uses that could have combined, for example, with Google Glasses.
The internet of things seems nearer.

Wearable Tech, is this really what technology will looks like?

Movies and books have predict the necessity of wear hypertechnological solutions and bring with us gadgets that could fits for every situation.
Who doesn't want to enter a club, suited up, talking in the shirt's sleeve and introduce himself like "I'm Bond, James Bond".

The reality (ofc) is far away from what authors can imagine, so probabily we have to wait some more years before that could happen.
It all started with Casio's calculators/wathces. So futuristic. So hipster!

Then, for like 10 years, nothing happens. The evolution of the species stopped it's march.
Nike first (nike + means anything for you?), followed by a long list of sports related brand, started to produce brachelets to keep track of customer's athletics abilities and objectives.
It was a good idea.
A well done product, born with a purpose, used and appreciated by milion of customers all over the word.

Then the 2013 comes.
Just when the trend of the big Big BIG (did I said Big?) whatches seemed to be a far away memory, an evil mind decided that 2013 will be the year of the SMARTWHATCHES!!!!!!!
YES. Le'ts wear an unconfortable big screen on our wrists. So we can finally loose diopters trying to read a whatsapp messages on an 1.6-inch screen, or use our smartphone with a smartwhatch on our smartwrist.
I love technology. I love to discover new products. I just don't like smartwathches.

So. Now that 2013 is over.
Let's hope that it was just a dream, a bad dream.
